02/09/12

First game of the Season and we managed to get Thirteen to turn up. Unlucky for some? Well it was as we had no recognised keeper.
SO Goose, one of our Younger newer players said he would play in goal. He may now be regretting that decision!
We started off fairly brightly and were creating a few chances but just not scoring. Shaldon mean while were creating a lot more chances then us, but could they score, not with our stand in keeper in such fine form and Jimbo getting in to block a lot of their chances.
Although they did eventually manage to get past our defence and score. Only one nil down at half time, this was quite good going for us.
So on to the 2nd half, where i think our lack of fitness started to tell as they put another five past us, but should of been more, but fore some more outstanding goal keeping and some wayward shooting at times.
We still managed to create a few chances ourselves but theit keeper was also having a good game and we just could not find a way past him. So final score was 6-0 to Shaldon

09/09/12

We eventually got 15 of us to tuirn up at Cornworthy. Although was fairly obvious that this was their first home game of the season as the pitch was still being marked out, the grass could of been done with being cut as well but can't ghave everything i suppose.
With a fairly strong team to start with and 4 subs to bring on we were confident of a good result. Although we started quite well with Pat MArsh making runs through the middle we soon found ourselves 1-0 down.
But no matter we regrouped and with some deft runs down the flanks we sonn had them in trouble and were soon 2-1 up. Although Dan had to go off with an injured foot we had plenty of subs to choose from in his place. There was some action at both end before the end of the first half anhalf time brought us off at 3-2 up.
This was looking good for us and with another change made at half tme we thought that we may well win. We scored first in the seconh half tom go 4-2 up, but we then conceded a couple of simple goals for them to drraw level at 4-4.
With a couple more changes made we woon got in front again, but they managed to equalise to make it 5-5.

16/09/12

We had a problem with the changing rooms to start with, Manager left the wrong key for us! But never mind we soon got changed and played downhill to start with.
We were soon passing the ball round and contolling the game very well. Pat MArsh went on one of his runs through their midfield and defence and scored 1-0 to us. We were soon 2-0 up when Coz scored with a cracking shot from just outside the box.
They were getting the occassional break into our half but our defence was holding up well. Our pressure soon told again when from a corner PAt Marsh headed home. So 3-0 up at half time.
Into the 2nd half and we were soon 4-0 up with anothe goal from Coz, could he or Pat Marsh get a Hat-trick? Aftesome substitutions we managed to let them back in they scord 2 goals in close succesion, 4-2 to us, surely we would not let the lead slip again like we had the previous week.. Soon with another ggod attack, we had scored our fifth , Pat Marsh Hat-Trick. We did sstill have a few scares especially when from a corner it looked like they had scored, but no was saved on the line. We still had a few more chances to score, but it wasn't to be so final score was 5-2, and back to trhe club for a lovely chilli, thanks Sal, and watch a drink off between Pat Marsh (Hat-tirck) & Coz (MOTM). Coz lost.

30/09/12

Well we scraped together 13 of us to play. Got down Clennon Valalley and pitch looked good, so hopefully we could produce some good football.
Well with just a few minutes on the board we were soon 1-0 down, this wasn't going to plan.We regrouped and started to pass the ball around and get it down the wings
but still couldn't get a breakthrough. Suddenly they got a break on and we found ourselves 2-0 down, definitely not good. But we soon found our feet and a blistering drive from Jas was only parried and Coz was on hand to score.
Then a quick dart down the right and a cross in for Reece to score, back in the game at 2-2. But they still managed to get through and score a third to make it 3-2 to them at half time.
So on to the 2nd half and with a couple of substituitons we started to play the ball round got a fairly early break to make it 3-3. But that was as good as it got, for suddenly they were sending long balls through to their forwards and catching our defence wanting and wee then startted to ship goals in Final score was 9-3 to them.

07/10/12

What with injuries and players away, we did just about mamage to scrape a team together.
We soon found ourselves 1-0, with virtually their first atack of the game. This looked as though we may of been in for a torrid time, but we managed to start playing and getting the ball into their box, but just couldn't quite manage to score.
So onto the 2nd half, we again conceded a goal fairl soon into the half to be 2-0 down.
Although we wern't exactly playing rough they did seem to have a few players keep going down with injuries in the 2nd half. Main one was when Reece managed to kick one of their players in the face, and after a long stoppage to try and stem his nose bleed we then continued on, albeit now with 12 players on the pitch, although it did not so us any good as we could still not score, but at least we kept the score down to a respectable 2-0.
MOTM was Chopper who set a new record with a rescpetable 24s, although this did not last long as Goose then said that he could beat it, which he did in a time of 21s.
Will any one get under 20s or even attempt it? Will need to wait and see as Season has only just started.

04/11/12

After some heavy over night rain, would the match go ahead?
Yes it did and things looked good for us at the start we had 14 players and they only had bare 11, so meant that on haevy pitch we could hopefully wear them out, but keep ours selves fresh as 3 subs to play with. Also Rob had to ref as well so more points in our favour.
Unfortunately this didn't last to long. Although we played a fairly neat passing game, we could n't break through, they then on a counter attack managed to lob our keeper from just inside our half, 1-0 to them.
But we kept to a fairly tidy passing game and then we scored a some what controversial equaliser, the keeper caliming he had both hands on ball when Tom slid in and took the ball and scored. Although they argued bitterly the goal was given, should have your own ref then! might not of been given then.
After that we controlled the game quite well and with two well taken goals by Ezza and a strike from Reece, we went in 4-1 up at half time.
Some changes were made at half time to give some players a rest as was quite heavy going in places.
